TL;DR: We tracked 26 construction trade shows and conferences for general contractors from November 2026 through 2027: 24 with confirmed dates and 2 more due later. The big national shows are World of Concrete (January 19-21, 2027, Las Vegas), the NAHB International Builders’ Show (February 2-4, Las Vegas), and the AGC Annual Convention (April 6-8, Phoenix) for commercial GCs. For local options, Build Expo USA runs 10 regional shows, and New York Build Expo (March 2-3) is free. There is no CONEXPO-CON/AGG in 2027; the next one is in 2029.
We checked dates and cities on organizers’ sites in October 2026. When a date came from an event calendar instead of the official site, the card tells you. Confirm before booking.
This guide is for general contractors: owners, project executives, estimators, and the people who run field operations and technology. Each card says plainly who should go, so you can skip the shows that do not fit your work.

Chart: 24 construction events with confirmed dates between November 2026 and December 2027, by month. Nov 2026 is the busiest month (3 events), and 11 of the 24 fall between January and April 2027.
For general contractors: unlike the HVAC and roofing calendars, construction events spread across the whole year, mostly thanks to the Build Expo tour. That makes it easier to pick a slow month for your company instead of fighting peak season.
Which Construction Event Fits Your Company?
- Commercial GC leadership: the AGC Annual Convention, or the ABC Convention for merit shop firms.
- Residential GCs and builders: IBS, plus the Atlantic Builders Convention or SEBC regionally.
- Concrete, site, and utility work: World of Concrete and The Utility Expo.
- Equipment and fleets: The ARA Show.
- Design-build: the DBIA conference.
- Technology and software: Trimble Dimensions, ENR FutureTech, Autodesk University, and Procore Groundbreak.
- Close to home and low cost: a Build Expo USA city stop or the free New York Build Expo.
Chart: the 24 dated construction events in this guide by type: 13 regional construction expo, 4 national trade show, 4 association convention, 3 construction technology.
Chart: host states for the 24 dated events. 14 states host at least one, led by Florida (4), Nevada (4), Texas (3).
For general contractors: Texas and Florida host the most events here, partly because the Build Expo tour visits Austin, Houston, Dallas, Tampa, and South Florida.
Construction Events Still Ahead in 2026
Design-build, technology, and the first two Build Expo stops close out 2026.
DBIA Design-Build Conference & Expo (Nov 4-6, 2026, Cleveland, OH)
Who should go: General contractors, design-build firms, architects, and public owners who deliver projects through design-build.
Why it is worth the trip: DBIA calls it the largest national gathering of the year for design-build, with thousands of attendees at the Huntington Convention Center. DBIA picked Cleveland for lower hotel and travel costs, so it is realistic to bring a whole project team.
Build Expo USA Regional Tour (10 cities, Nov 2026 to Oct 2027)

- Los Angeles Build Expo: Nov 4-5, 2026
- Phoenix Build Expo: Dec 9-10, 2026

- Dallas Build Expo: Aug 25-26, 2027
- Atlanta Build Expo: Sep 15-16, 2027
- South Florida Build Expo: Oct 6-7, 2027
Who should go: General contractors, subcontractors, and builders who want a local construction show they can drive to.
Why it is worth the trip: Build Expo USA runs two-day regional building and construction shows city by city, so a general contractor can meet local suppliers, subcontractors, and equipment dealers without flying across the country. Exhibitor testimonials on the official site say most of the people at the booths are contractors and decision-makers.
Trimble Dimensions (Nov 9-11, 2026, Las Vegas, NV)
Who should go: Operations, VDC, estimating, and field technology leads at contractors that use or are evaluating Trimble tools.
Why it is worth the trip: Trimble lists hundreds of expert-led sessions, live demos, and hands-on workshops at The Venetian, plus an offsite expo. Good for a hands-on look at layout, scanning, and project software before you buy.
Winter 2027: Concrete, Builders, and Equipment
January and February bring the big national shows to Las Vegas and New Orleans.
World of Concrete (Jan 19-21, 2027, Las Vegas, NV)

Who should go: Concrete, masonry, and site work contractors, plus GCs who self-perform concrete.
Why it is worth the trip: The organizer calls it the only annual international event dedicated to commercial concrete and masonry construction, with indoor and outdoor exhibits, live demonstrations, and competitions. Education starts January 18. If you pour concrete, this is your show.
NAHB International Builders' Show (Feb 2-4, 2027, Las Vegas, NV)

Who should go: Residential general contractors, custom home builders, and design-build remodelers.
Why it is worth the trip: IBS is the residential construction industry’s main show, run by NAHB alongside KBIS as Design & Construction Week. 2027 is its first year of a permanent move to Las Vegas.
The ARA Show (Feb 14-16, 2027, New Orleans, LA)
Who should go: Contractors who rent a lot of equipment, own a fleet, or are deciding between the two.
Why it is worth the trip: The American Rental Association calls it the largest equipment and event rental trade show, with 10,000+ rental professionals. For a GC, it is a chance to talk directly with rental companies and manufacturers about availability, pricing, and new equipment.
City confirmed on the official site; the Feb 14-16 dates come from a 2027 construction event calendar.
Spring 2027: Association Conventions and Regional Shows
March through May is convention season for commercial and merit shop contractors, plus the Northeast’s big regional shows.
New York Build Expo (Mar 2-3, 2027, New York, NY)
Who should go: General contractors, subcontractors, developers, and building professionals in the New York area.
Why it is worth the trip: Free tickets, and the organizer reports 45,000+ attendees, 600+ exhibitors, and 600+ speakers at the Javits Center. The same ticket covers InstallerSHOW New York for HVACR and plumbing on the same floor.
ABC Convention (Mar 9-11, 2027, Aurora, CO)
Who should go: Owners and executives at merit shop (open shop) construction companies that belong to Associated Builders and Contractors.
Why it is worth the trip: ABC’s national convention at the Gaylord Rockies, near Denver, covers leadership, workforce, and the policy issues that affect merit shop contractors.
Dates and venue come from a 2027 construction event calendar; ABC’s site blocked our verification attempt, so confirm before booking.
World of Modular (Apr 5-8, 2027, Orlando, FL)
Who should go: GCs and builders doing or exploring modular and offsite construction.
Why it is worth the trip: The Modular Building Institute’s annual conference returns to Orlando, and registration was already open in October 2026. Useful if prefabrication is part of how you plan to handle labor shortages.
AGC Annual Convention (Apr 6-8, 2027, Phoenix, AZ)

Who should go: Owners and executives of commercial general contracting firms.
Why it is worth the trip: AGC bills it as the definitive event for commercial construction, with sessions on profitability, project efficiency, and leadership, plus an expo. The 2026 convention was in Orlando; 2027 moves to Phoenix.
Atlantic Builders Convention (Apr 6-8, 2027, Atlantic City, NJ)
Who should go: Builders, GCs, and remodelers across New Jersey and the Northeast.
Why it is worth the trip: The New Jersey Builders Association calls it the Northeast’s largest building industry trade show, with 400+ exhibitors across materials, systems, finance, technology, and legal services.
ENR FutureTech (May 4-5, 2027, San Francisco, CA)
Who should go: Construction executives and technology leaders deciding what software and tools to adopt.
Why it is worth the trip: Engineering News-Record’s construction technology forum at the Hilton San Francisco Union Square is built for decision-makers, not just tech enthusiasts.
Summer and Fall 2027
The second half of the year is lighter on conventions but has regional expos almost every month and The Utility Expo in October.
Southeast Building Conference (Jul 21-22, 2027, Orlando, FL)
Who should go: Builders and contractors in Florida and the Southeast.
Why it is worth the trip: The Florida Home Builders Association runs this education and expo at the Orange County Convention Center, a practical regional option during the slower summer months.
Autodesk University (Sep 14-16, 2027, Las Vegas, NV)
Who should go: Preconstruction, BIM, and VDC teams, and contractors standardizing on Autodesk software.
Why it is worth the trip: Autodesk’s annual conference for the design and construction industry focuses on BIM, preconstruction, and construction software workflows.
Dates come from a 2027 construction event calendar; confirm on Autodesk’s site.
The Utility Expo (Oct 5-7, 2027, Louisville, KY)

Who should go: Utility, underground, and site contractors, plus GCs who self-perform excavation.
Why it is worth the trip: The organizer calls it the largest and fastest growing trade show in the utility industry, and the big draw is hands-on equipment demos: you can climb in and test machines before you buy.
Expected in 2027 (Dates Not Announced Yet)
Two fall events that had not posted 2027 dates when we checked.
Procore Groundbreak 2027
Who should go: Contractors using Procore or evaluating construction management software.
Why it is worth the trip: Procore’s annual conference; one listing puts the 2026 edition in Orlando in the fall. Expect the 2027 announcement in the first half of the year.
DBIA Design-Build Conference & Expo 2027
Who should go: Design-build contractors and owners.
Why it is worth the trip: DBIA’s national conference runs every fall (Cleveland in November 2026). DBIA has also already scheduled 2027 design-build conferences for transportation and aviation (Apr 26-28) and water and wastewater (Apr 28-30) in Denver.
The Whole Construction Year on One Timeline
Every dated event on one line. Notice how evenly the Build Expo stops fill in the gaps between national shows.
Chart: every dated event in this guide on one timeline, November 2026 (orange, still in 2026) through December 2027 (navy). The first is DBIA Design-Build Conference & Expo 2026 on Nov 4-6, 2026; the last is South Florida Build Expo on Oct 6-7, 2027.
How General Contractors Get Real Value From a Trade Show
For a GC, a show is worth it when it leads to better subs, better pricing, better tools, or new work.
Before the show:
- Decide what you are shopping for: a scheduling or estimating tool, an equipment purchase versus rental, new subcontractors in a market you are entering.
- Look at the exhibitor list and book meetings with the five or six companies that matter most.
- Send your estimators to the product and pricing booths and your project managers to the technology sessions.
After the show:
- Add new subs and suppliers to your bid lists while the conversation is fresh.
- Share what you saw with clients and prospects, for example a short post about a new building method or material you are now offering. Owners and developers like hiring contractors who stay current.
- Track which show produced a supplier, a sub, or a project. That tells you which events to repeat next year.
For general contractors: the best trip is the one with a clear purchasing or hiring decision attached. Without one, a convention is mostly networking you could have done closer to home.
Plan Your 2027 Construction Event Calendar
The short version: commercial GCs should look at AGC in April; residential GCs at IBS in February; concrete and site contractors at World of Concrete in January.
If you want a lower-cost option: a Build Expo USA stop near you, or the free New York Build Expo.
If technology is on your list: Trimble Dimensions this November, ENR FutureTech in May, or Autodesk University in September.
We will update this page as Procore Groundbreak and the 2027 DBIA conference announce dates.
Data Sources: Dates and cities come from organizers’ official websites (World of Concrete, AGC, Build Expo USA, NAHB’s IBS, New York Build Expo, The Utility Expo, World of Modular, SEBC, ENR, DBIA, Trimble, and the American Rental Association), checked in October 2026. Where we relied on a 2027 construction event calendar instead, the event card says so. Attendance and exhibitor numbers are the organizers’ own figures.
